New Orleans, LA
“Once you catch a bass and you hook that bass and he jump out the water and shake his head. You gonna be shaking. And you gonna be jumping around like a kid. The first big bass I caught I was a kid and I just looked at it all night long.”
Joel Profit has been fishing Bayou St. John since he was eight years old. Over many years of fishing the bayous, lakes, and rivers of South Louisiana, he has become an expert fisherman and a well-known seafood provider within the community. He was also a long-time history teacher in New Orleans public schools. Joel has seen the land, water, and catch change in his lifetime.
