“I’ve gotten so many great opportunities to photograph musicians and cultural icons as part of this series over the last five years. It’s been pretty amazing to get all these people in one area at one time.”

Photographer Zack Smith has been documenting the social landscapes that surround him for the past twelve years, and since 2000, has focused his energies on New Orleans and Southwestern Louisiana. Smith specializes in environmental portraiture, performance, and street documentary photography. Smith has also shown his fine art photography in galleries across the South. Smith is currently a photography instructor at The New Orleans Academy of Fine Art, staff photographer at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, The French Quarter Festival, The Murphy Institute of Political Economy and The Center for Ethics and Public Affairs at Tulane University, The Tulane University Marching Band, KidSmArt, and collaborator with The Canary Collective.
